6th Grade Families.

Clinton County Middle School has been selected to participate in the Kentucky Oral Health 3rd and 6th Grade Surveillance Project. As part of this project, 6th grade students will receive a brief, one-minute dental “smile check” on Wednesday, October 14. The screening is free, involves only a visual check using a disposable mouth mirror, and does not replace regular dental care.

Please review the attached letter for additional information. If you do NOT want your child to participate, please complete the opt-out form included in the letter and return it to school by October 9. If you are comfortable with your child participating, no form needs to be returned.

Thank you!

Next week, CCMS students will complete a brief literacy assessment during their Reading classes. The assessment will help us better understand our students’ literacy needs and how we can best support their growth.

This assessment is part of a research program through Stanford University. Families have the option to opt out of having their student’s data included in the research.

Please review the information in the linked document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Q-nZFZMpZQGTxHVIN-CZGZguVenVyfvu/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=104308108943083529466&rtpof=true&sd=true to learn more about the assessment, the research program, and how to opt out of research participation if you choose to do so.

Thank you for your continued support of our students!

📱 PikMyKid Dismissal Reminder

We’ve had a great first week using PikMyKid for student dismissal! Thank you to our families for helping us make dismissal safer and more efficient.

We ask all families to take a moment to check two things in the app:

1️⃣ Check your child’s default dismissal mode.
Please make sure it is correct. Unless you schedule a change, your child’s default dismissal mode is what we will use each day. (see picture for reference)

2️⃣ Check your approved pickup contacts.
If someone other than the two primary adults on your child’s account will be picking them up, please make sure that person is added as a contact and delegated as a pickup for that day. (See 2nd picture for reference)

🚨 This is especially important if your child will be riding home with another student!

And don’t worry—our traditional checkout options are still available! If you ever need assistance, you can always walk up and speak with an administrator in the parking lot at dismissal.

Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe, organized, and efficient for everyone! 💙🐾

Parents, at 2:20 each day, you'll be able to "announce" your arrival on the Pik-My-Kid app. Please "announce" your arrival so that we will know which students to send out to the parking lot at dismissal. Any student that is not announced will have to be checked out in person with the Admin staff stationed on the sidewalks in the parent parking lot.

Seventh-grade students will travel to Clinton County High School on Wednesday, September 9, to participate in Operation UNITE's "On The Move" program, a drug prevention and education initiative offered through a partnership with the Kentucky Army National Guard. The program is designed to help students understand the risks associated with alcohol and drug use through engaging, hands-on learning experiences that align with Kentucky's Practical Living and Health standards.

Throughout the day, students will participate in several interactive activities that promote healthy decision-making and awareness of the effects of substance use.

CCMS is excited to begin using our new dismissal app, PikMyKid!

Thank you for your patience as we worked through some data syncing issues during setup. We are now ready to begin implementation and will gradually roll out the app over the next several days. Our goal is to have the system fully operational for all families by next week.

Please review the attached parent guide to create your account and connect your student(s) before we begin full implementation.

Important: Student accounts are linked to the phone numbers listed in Infinite Campus for Guardian 1 and Guardian 2. If you are unable to connect your student to your PikMyKid account, please contact the school office. We will be happy to review your information and make any necessary corrections.

Thank you for your cooperation as we implement this new system to help make dismissal safer and more efficient for our students and families.
